Today we went over more SPEAK practice
tests, as usual. We’ve been doing a new one every session, and I think she’s
improving a bit. I’m still trying to get her to act more calmly! She always
seems so pent up, but her reactions are funny when she realizes that she messes
up. That’s good though, that she recognizes her own mistakes and quickly
corrects them.
We
also worked on her pronunciation today. The “feel,” “fell,” and “fail”
practices are…kind of getting somewhere. ^^; So, we’ve recorded me saying it,
as well as her, just so she can listen and practice it on her own. We tried to
go over the different speech movements when saying “ale” and “ell” to help her.
If you do it yourself, it’s noticeable that for “ale” your tongue gets slightly
more pointed, and with “ell” the tongue remains more flat and forward. Hopefully
that’ll help! (She’s got “feel” down well enough.”
