Alberto CO#2

Date/Time: 7/7/17 – 9 AM

Topic/Skill: Listening Class – Andrew Wilson

Teacher Presentation: The teacher took the attendance and then presented the vocabulary word of the day by writing it on the whiteboard; students were asked to give their definition of the word “sarcastic.”
Classroom Management: The lesson was student centered and the teacher was playing the coach model role. Professor Wilson shared knowledge with the class but he also helped students better understand the learning process and encouraged them to take responsibility for their own learning.

Materials: Whiteboard, Projector, Speakers, YouTube, Popsicle sticks, and PowerPoint

Student Participation: The teacher had Popsicle sticks with students’ names written on them and he would randomly choose one every time he needed someone to participate.

Feedback Provided: To evaluate the students understanding and provide them with feedback the teacher played a short clip to students and asked them vocabulary questions about the video.

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: I leaned about the importance of keeping the students engaged and participating in class activities; it is crucial that all students have a chance to practice what they learn.
