KristenTS#1

My first tutor session was held in one of the CIES classrooms on Monday, July 10.  My tutee, Brenda, is from Mexico.  I was thrilled to find that out because I have traveled pretty extensively through Mexico and love the different cultures there. Brenda's sister also lives here and is not currently taking classes at CIES, but Brenda wishes she would do so.  She said the classes are a bit difficult, but it would be quite beneficial for her.

In the future, Brenda wants to work in the Embassy in Mexico City because she wants to help Mexican (as well as US citizens). She told me her biggest obstacle to getting that job is her English skills.  She needs to speak and comprehend English better. She is most comfortable with reading English, but feels that her listening, speaking, writing, and grammar skills need more work.  I enjoyed talking and getting to know her and I look forward to helping her achieve her goal.
