Karinna- TS#1 Soumai

Soumaya is 21 year old girl from West Africa, she is learning so that she can attend grad-school the upcoming school year. We first discussed our plans via email, which allowed me to have an understanding on how far along she is with grammar. In high school she learned English but it was very minimal. Her first language is French, which she said makes it difficult for people to understand with accent. Her English vocabulary is also minimal and sometimes has difficulty verbally speaking what she wants to say. We discussed what she wants help with the most, and she want to focus on practicing speaking English. I also focused on simply getting to know each other, so that she is comfortable speaking with me and asking me to help her whenever she needs it.  Soumaya seems extremely eager to have tutoring sessions week and really wants to excel in the English language.
