Kaitlin CO#2

Teacher: Victoria Davis
Topic: Composition
Time: 10am
Group 3A Room 104

My first impression of Mrs. Davis is that she is very energetic and a clear speaker. She provided tips throughout her class such as how to practice fluency. The class started out with a writing practice exercise. A paper was handed out the day before and students were suppose to look over it. This paper contained a news report on Somoan airlines. This exercise included group participation. The two paragraphs were read out loud and their topics were discussed.
Mrs. Davis drew a compare and contrast chart on the board and listed key topics of the written passage. She then played a youtube video for the students. The first time she told them to just watch. She said on the second and third time playing the video to take notes. After this she then had students tell what the key topics in the video were. The text topics and video topics were then compared and contrasted. She pointed out transition words as well.
She then had students get into groups. Whose who had already completed the rest of the assignment got into a group and those who didn't worked on their paper individually. For the students that finished she had them read what they wrote out loud and critique their own work.

I found this class to be very helpful on how to make a class feel more motivated and interested in learning the language.
