Annie TS #8

I met Hani at Starbucks at lunchtime on Tuesday July 25. I picked a level 1 article from News in Levels about a dog in New York that rescued a baby deer that was drowning. We went over vocabulary like wild, deer, fawn, drown. We got into a bit of a confusion over the words 'population' and 'conservation' and 'conversation' so I had to define each of them and make example sentences so that Hani could un-confuse them in his mind. 'Conversation' and 'conservation' were especially tricky because they have all of the same sounds. This article was much more level appropriate and Hani enjoyed it because he learned about some wildlife here in the U.S. and we got to discuss the article. Then we went over some grammar questions he had from class earlier that day. We ran out of time so he had to hurry to class.
