Salem

I met with my second conversation partner this evening, Salem. We actually had an issue with meeting up at first because I am not familiar with all the Starbucks around here. Salim was in one of the classes that I did a class observation with. It is kind of funny because he thought I was in the class to learn English. He did not understand why I needed to be in the class if I was already a native speaker so I had to explain to him the TEFL program. He was very friendly, spoke well, and was quite interesting. He was very curious about American culture. He actually showed me a powerpoint presentation that he made about Dubai, which is where he is from. The powerpoint was very interesting and Salem seemed very passionate about the place. There were a couple times where he did not understand the words I used, so I had to rephrase the sentence to make it more understandable. I find it very interesting when I have to do this because I feel like I am being challenged. He also showed me where the FSU Gym is at. I look forward to having more conversation partner meetings with him.
