Today (8/9/17), I met with Mardioli and Eduardo to discuss how they feel their progress has come along and also to arrange to meet when the classes are not in session.
Eduardo is going back to Brazil for 10 days during the three week period, but Mardioli and her children will still be here.
Mardioli is concerned that her english that she has worked so hard to learn will atrophy without continued practice, so I told her that I will meet with her as many times as she pleases around her schedule so that she can continue to practice.
Mardioli struggles with verb tenses, pronouns, pronunciation, and the inclusion or exclusion of articles, so I will be designing "homework" for her that will focus on these areas. We will also be going through the book that was provided to her at the start of the session, as there are still plenty of lessons that were not addressed in her classes.
After arranging the immediate future, I conversed with her about her life and her children, all the while encouraging her to self correct by using the "what" method or "can you say that sentence again for me?"
We will meet again tomorrow at the international dinner.
