Ken TS# 10 Peter

At the end of the tutoring session with Peter, his father was telling me that made me feel as though the little time I was putting in with their family was really making a difference. Emmanuel kept telling me that I was a good teacher and was blessing me for caring about his children's' education because education is very different in Uganda.

Peter is in the equivalent of third grade here in the US, but he still doesn't know how to read. This makes his father very emotional because he wants what is best for his children.

And it is true that he struggles to read, but he can read a few words. I proved this to his father when he watched Peter spell the animals that we learned about on a mini whiteboard that I brought. It was not much, but it was something.

Emmanuel was very happy to have me there and it really moved me. I am planning on preparing plans for their whole family going forward in the event that their tutor doesn't show up anymore.

Next week Emmanuel and Rachel said they are planning on cooking me a local meal from Uganda, I am very excited
